Skill tree & collectibles
The skill tree is paid for with collectibles, not experience. Its three rows are unlocked with Sha-Chi Amber Shards, Blackstone Shards and Memory Flowers found in the world, and it can be reset and reinvested at any time.
How the tree works

There is no level-up screen. Soul grows by finding things: each row of the tree is bought with its own collectible, and the director has said progression is meant to give new tools rather than flat stat increases. Nodes can be refunded and spent again.
Nodes shown so far
Four node cards were readable in the State of Play. The rest of the tree — about 38 nodes — is added from launch day.
Lv.1Fluid Control
Allows R1 dodge at any point during a △ attack.
Official footageHow many are there?
Every region has a collection tracker. The only one shown so far, Mandate Encampment, holds 4 Sha-Chi Amber Shards, 4 Blackstone Shards and 20 Memory Flowers. With 8 regions, totals will only be known at launch.

Memory Flowers
Memory Flowers raise maximum HP and other stats. Some are named for the people they remember — the Echo Blossom of Alkaid, or the Echo Blossom of the Seven Stars, pieced together from seven Echo Petals. Sparing the Red Wraith grants an extra one.
