Weapon upgrades & materials
Weapons are upgraded with Remnant Dust plus two material lines — Twinned Metal and Solvent — each in three tiers. Levels raise Damage and Break Power and unlock perks, and Revert resets a weapon with every material refunded.
What an upgrade costs
The one upgrade step shown in full: Seamless Death from level 9 to 10 cost 12 Twinned Metal, 4 Solvent and 5,850 Remnant Dust, raising Damage 578 → 610 and Break Power 302 → 319.
Revert (reforge)
“The level will be reset to its starting level, and all materials used will be returned.” Nothing is lost by upgrading the wrong weapon. The item that does it is the Reforging Talisman. The revert button also shows a counter (2/25 on the screen shown), whose meaning is not yet confirmed; weapon levels themselves go up to 30.

01What is the max weapon level?+
30. The director says the same weapon can play very differently at level 1 and level 30, because upgrades unlock traits, forms and techniques — not just bigger numbers.
02Can you finish Phantom Blade Zero with one weapon?+
Yes. Weapons counter specific enemies, but the director says one weapon can carry a whole run — even the weakest one, a wooden sword.
03Can you get upgrade materials back?+
Yes. Reverting a weapon returns it to its starting level and refunds every material used.
