How to reach Jagged Steel
Weeping Creek Valley mapAbout a minute and a half on foot from the Broken Puppet Valley bell, in a wide stony riverbed below a waterfall. On the way, Captain Chen Zhu's Secret Letter warns of a rampaging Maskwalker whose rusted blade makes its victims bleed, and begs that Master Huangxing never learn the blade was lost.

Blue · parrySome of his sword swings glint blue just before they land. Parry those rather than dodge them. A parried blue swing is often followed at once by a quick run of cuts that leave arcs of blood, so keep your guard up after the parry.

Red · dodgeA red flash lights up as he lunges in from mid range. Do not try to parry it: dodge out of the way. With the skill Fluid Form, a Perfect Dodge on it lets you strike back with a Quick Pursuit.

How to beat Jagged Steel
Each of his cuts fills your own Bleed gauge, and when it tops out you take a burst of Blood Loss damage. Avoiding a run of hits matters more than any single one.
Keep Medicine ready. Both launch-day players healed in the middle of the fight after a Blood Loss burst.
A second soldier in purple armour is in the riverbed when the fight starts, so watch both of them in the opening seconds.
If you die, the Discordance sends you back to the last bell you touched. Ring Broken Puppet Valley first and the walk back is short.

Parry his blue-flash swings, dodge the red-flash lunge, and keep your distance when you are close to Blood Loss. Heal with Medicine after a burst. On launch day one player won on the second try, another on the first in about two minutes on Hellwalker.
What does Jagged Steel drop?
His sword, Jagged Steel: a one-handed primary weapon with 240 damage and 124 Bleed at level 1, along with 6,600 Remnant Dust. Each hit builds Bleed, and a full gauge triggers Blood Loss.
